High School Expansion, Southern NH

This project was completed in the late summer of 2006. We knew prior to starting this project that children would find their way across the newly seeded areas as soon as school started and potentially disturb the seed bed. Time was of the essence. We also knew that if the hillside failed due to a rain event we would not have time to establish some erosion protection before the school year began.

Hydrograss Corp. recommended that the customer use Flexterra, our premier spray-on blanket, to protect the seeds, speed germination and control erosion. The customer agreed and we moved forward. We applied the seed and fertilizer first, along with enough fiber so that we could see where we had seeded and where we had not. Once the seed had been applied, we went over the top with Flexterra, applied at 3500 lbs. per acre.

The customer used a Finn model T-60T to complete the work and covered 2500 sq. ft. per tank load. The job was completed in less than half the time it would have taken to roll out erosion control blanket in its place. The job was a huge success both for the customer and the school.
