Sediment Control

Filtrexx® Sediment control is a three-dimensional tubular sediment control and storm water filtration device typically used as a Silt Fence Replacement (perimeter control device) for sediment and soluble pollutants (such as phosphorus and petroleum hydrocarbons), on and around construction activities. Filtrexx® Sediment control traps sediment and soluble pollutants by filtering runoff water as it passes through the organic structure, and by allowing water to temporarily pond behind the device, allowing deposition of suspended solids. Sediment control is also used to reduce runoff flow velocities on sloped surfaces.

slope protection

Slope Protection and Erosion Control Blanket

Filtrexx® Slope protection and Erosion Control Blanket is a slope stabilization, erosion control, and vegetation establishment practice used on slopes to stabilize bare, disturbed, or erodable soils on and around construction activities. Slope protection is used for temporary and permanent slope erosion control and vegetation establishment applications. Slope protection is surface applied to a depth of 1.5 to 2 in (35-50mm) or 200-270 cubic yards/ac (385-513 cubic m/ha), and is typically applied to slopes with pneumatic blower trucks or similar equipment. Filtrexx® LockDown™ Netting can be used to increase the stabilization and erosion control capabilities of Slope protection. LockDown™ Netting is a single net erosion control blanket stapled to the slope prior to application of the Slope protection. Together, these products form an interlocking system of structure and natural organic material for maximum slope stabilization and vegetative sustainability

Bank Stabilization

The Filtrexx® Bank stabilization is a vegetated soft armoring system designed to stabilize banks and prevent erosion of riparian areas, waterways, and shoreline banks. The Bank stabilization system uses heavy duty tubular mesh nettings and/or geogrids to provide structural protection, control erosion, estabilish and reinforce vegetation all in one simple system.

Filtrexx® Bank Stabilization has been specifically developed to withstand high flow velocities and shear stresses that conventional products cannot withstand. This patented system allows vegetation to grow from the inside out to create a natural anchor within the tubular mesh Soxx™, and between the bank and the stabilization system. Our drip tape irrigational system (optional) ensures rapid establishment and sustainability of seed and live stake plantings. Filtrexx® Bank Stabilization system is recommended for:

  • structural stability and protection from toe-cutting and sloughing of waterway bank
  • structural stability and protection from mass wasting and sloughing of shoreline from wave action

Oil Removal

Filtrexx® Petroleum Hydrocarbon Removal is a natural absorbent that is used with Filtrexx® stormwater pollution prevention practices, such as Sediment Control, Check Dams, Inlet Protection, Biofiltration and Bioretention Systems. It is specifically used to reduce petroleum hydrocarbon, or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (oil/grease, diesel fuel, gasoline), loads in stormwater runoff. Recommended applications include, around or near: urban watersheds, sensitive receiving waters, TMDL (303d) listed water bodies and contributing watersheds, parking lots, parking decks, driveways, highways, fueling stations, car washing stations, marinas, docks, boat staging areas.
